What is the best thing about Pick & Mix? To me, it is getting to choose only the best bit. Like my own personal “best of ” bag of sweets! This design is the knitting pattern equivalent of a pick & mix bag of sweets. Choose your favourite stitch patterns, your favourite colours and combine them to create your ultimate cowl!
The pattern gives instructions for four different weights of yarn making it very customisable.
Yarn: Heavy Laceweight (Appledore heavy lace: 275m/50g)
Amount needed: 1 skein of each colour will make 2 cowls
Needles: 2.5 and 3mm circular knitting needles with 40cm cable
Tension: 28 sts and 34 rows to 10cm over stocking stitch using larger needles.
Finished circumference: 60cm
Yarn: 4ply (Devonia 4ply: 388m/100g or
Harvest Hues 4ply: 400m/100g)
Amount needed: 1 skein of each colour will make 2 cowls
Needles: 3.25 and 3.5mm circular knitting needles with 40cm cable
Tension: 25 sts and 32 rows to 10 cm over stocking stitch using larger needles.
Finished circumference: 57.5cm
Yarn: Sports weight (Yarnadelic: 333m/100g)
Amount needed: 1 skein of each colour will make 2 cowls
Needles: 3 and 4mm circular knitting needles with 40 cm cable
Tension: 23 sts and 30 rows to 10 cm over stocking stitch using
larger needles.
Finished circumference: 55.5cm
Yarn: DK (Appledore DK: 250m/100g or
Devonia DK: 233m/100g)
Amount needed: 1 skein of each colour will make 2 cowls
Needles: 4 mm and 4.5mm circular knitting needles with 40cm cable
Tension: 19 sts and 25 rows to 10cm over stocking stitch using larger needles.
Finished circumference: 59.5cm
