Perigee Hat
A hat with a textured stitch pattern inspired by Gladys Thompson’s Guernsey & Jersey Patterns book. Hat is written for 3 lengths, beanie (ski cap), slouchy (cloche like), and very slouchy (tam like)- The varying lengths can also used to adapt the pattern to a variety of head sizes with blocking. Hat shown is the middle size: slouchy.
Materials
160 (190, 210) yards sport weight yarn
Shown in
Pigeon Roof Studios Cassiopeia DK 75% Merino,15% Cashmere, 10% Silk 260 yards
(238 m)/124 g skein: inkpot.
Please note that while this yarn is listed as a DK, it knitted up as a sport weight for this project. If substituting yarn consider carefully the drape and choose yarns with similar fiber content or characteristics, or choose finer yarns and knit more loosely to achieve gauge. Yardages are approximate and will vary depending on yarn choice.

ERRATA: Increase Rnd: k14, m1 eight times (not k9, m1)
Perigee, is the technical name for what is known more commonly as a spring tide. This occurs when the moon is new or full and results in the highest and lowest tides.
