This lacy ¾-sleeve shrug will complement summer sundresses in cooler spring and autumn weather. A feminine bell border on the sleeves aligns with the lace pattern, and the front bands are worked in a small cable stitch that resists curling. The shrug is worked in one piece from the bottom hem to the underarms, then divided into back and front sections for working separately above the armholes. Sleeves are worked flat from the bottom up, then seamed and set into the armholes. Working the front bands as you go minimizes the finishing steps after the knitting is complete.

Finished Measurements:
-Circumference measured at topmost button (under-bust), with button closed: 27 (29½, 34½, 39½) {42½, 47¼, 49¾, 54¾}“ / 68.5 (75, 88, 100.5) {107, 120, 126.5, 139} cm.
-Back width measured below underarm: 14½ (15¾, 18¼, 20¾) {22, 24¾, 26, 28½}” / 37 (40, 46.5, 53) {56, 62.5, 66, 72} cm.
Designed to be worn with 0-3” / 0-7.5 cm positive ease at the under-bust, and garment back width 0-2” / 0-5 cm smaller than wearer’s half-bust circumference. If no single size meets both requirements, choose a size based on under-bust measurement.
Shown in Size 29½“ under-bust with 2” / 5 cm positive ease at under-bust, and 0” / 0 cm difference between garment back width and half-bust circumference.
Full schematic is shown in images at left.

Adjust needle size if needed to obtain gauge. Needles may be any style suitable for knitting flat.
10-stitch cable patterns measure 1.5” / 3.8 cm in width.

-US #6 / 4 mm: Use one size smaller than needle used to obtain gauge above. Needles may be any style suitable for knitting flat.
