Peony
by Brooke Nico
Knitted counterpanes--squares or strips of knitting that usually are stitched together as a kitted quilt or bedspread--were popular int he early 19th century. For Peony, I started with a traditional counterpane motif and added a fifth section to create a circle rather than a square.
