No swatches needed! Your tension really doesn’t matter for this pattern - that’s its beauty!
Make one tiny pebble first to practice. Then, work down through the sizes, crocheting all the large pebbles first, then all the medium, all the small, and finally the remaining tiny pebbles. You’ll soon notice that you are simply decreasing the size of the hook, the number of strands of yarn, and the number of middle rows of stitches as the pebbles get smaller.
Keep the wrong side of your work to the outside of the pebble. This will add more texture to your finished piece.
Tear your kapok, rather than cut it, to give you a softer shape when stuffing.
