Material Requirements
The Pig that has been crocheted for this pattern, was made using double knit yarn in the following strands and colours.

Paintbox yarns- Blush Pink approx 180g

Emu yarns- Pecan approx 40g
White small length for lining the eyes
Polyester toy stuffing
Eyes 20mm (plastic safety eyes or glass looped eyes).

You can of course use any brand of double-knit/light/3 weight.
This pattern would also work using fine/ sports/2 fine yarn. or aran/worsted/4 weight yarn but would be bigger.

Crochet Hook
2.50mm

Size

Using this weight yarn and size hook will give you a pig roughly measuring
55cm/ 20 inches measured from nose to tail tip.
18cm/ 7 inches from side to side .
24cm/ 9.5 inches from feet to the top of the head

If you are planning to make your pig in a heavier weight yarn, adjust your hook size accordingly. Use the smallest hook size possible for the weight of yarn that you are using. You need the stitches tight so the stuffing doesn’t show too much between stitches.
I recommend making a test motif to gauge tension.
