The Pancy scarf is romantic and feminine, inspired by the flowing lines of the pansy petals and the luxurious feel of the Three Irish Girls Wexford silk/merino yarn. It is especially suited to show off variegated colorways. The scalloped edges in combination with the feel of Three Irish Girls Wexford Merino Silk is a timeless piece of luxury to drape around your neck.

Three options for the scarf are included; a lengthwise knit scarf with either one or two skeins of Wexford Merino, and as a bonus a traditional vertical scarf version with one skein or an optional length.

The pattern has its roots in the Old Shale or Feather and Fan pattern. With a provisional cast on, it is framed by garter stitch borders and a non-curling lateral braid bind off (explained in the pattern photo tutorial).

Materials
• 240 (240, 480) yards of Three Irish Girls Wexford Merino
• 40” long circular needle (or appropriate length to project) size US7 (4.5 mm) (or needle appropriate to get gauge)
• About 30 yards of smooth cotton yarn for provisional cast on
• Darning needle
• Stitch markers 3 (10, 20) to mark pattern repeats
