Ottoman Selbu Mittens
Inspired by the historical references to
the Vikings forays into the Middle East,
I decided create a pair of mittens that
meld the two cultures. Using a copy of
Ottoman Embroidery by Marianne Ellis
& Jennifer Wearden as a point of
inspiration I created a color work design
to be placed on a Selbu mitten, a classic
Norwegian style of mitten.
