I have an obsession with knits that only use a small amount of yarn. I am also often stumped about what to do with beautifully hand dyed yarn. This open cardi covers both with a little sass. The pattern includes directions on making the cardigan close in the front.

Details: Oppositional is knit using 2 different weights of Dragonfly yarn Pixie and Traveller to create a colorblock effect that is popular right now. The cardigan is light and drapey in the shoulders and skirt and for the waist and trim it has a more substantial feel. The skirt has a slight Aline shape that is flattering on many body types. This pattern is suitable for a beginner who wants to add to their skill set but also an experienced knitter who enjoys a little intrigue without too much fuss.

The name Oppositional comes from the textures that go against the grain. Most of the body is knit in twisted stockinette, the remainder is knit in reverse stockinette, and the trim in garter. Straightforward to show off the yarn and interesting to keep you going. There are just a few eyelets to break up the fabric a bit and allow an under layer to peek through.

Size: The cardigan does not close in front so the flat measurement given should match your across back measurement.
