Old School Woven Vest
The Old School Woven Vest is worked in pieces, 2 fronts and 1 back. The pieces are then sewn together and the ribbings around the armhole and neckband are then added. The woven knitting requires that you are familiar with intarsia and stranded knitting. I suggest that you use yarn bobbins for the vertical warp columns.
This pattern uses written explanation and charts. The charts are separate PDFs of 8 different sizes. They are on the Ravelry download page.
MEASUREMENTS: Size 1, 2, 3, 4, (5, 6, 7, 8)
Bust/Chest circumference
Inches: 36, 38.5, 41, 43.5, (46, 50, 53, 57)
CM: 92, 98, 104, 110, (116, 128, 135, 145)
The pattern also gives you information about color usage whereby you can play with color variations using drawings that you can color in. The PDF charts are also made with several layers; how to use these layers is also explained in the pattern.
I used 8 warp (vertical) and weft (horizontal) colors and 1 background color. You might prefer to use only 2 or make it with 20. Yarn usage is also discussed in the pattern.
Here are the yarns and amounts that I used for the vest, Size 4, as pictured:
