Odette Sweater
Knitting Pattern for a Slightly Oversized Sweater with a Classic Fit, but a Special Yarn Combination in Sizes XS | S | M (L | XL | 2XL) 3XL | 4XL | 5XL.
Structure:
The sweater is worked top down in stockinette stitch in one piece: First, the back part is worked back and forth in rows. The shoulder section is shaped with German Short Rows for the best fit possible. Afterwards, the front panels are shaped separately at first to form the round neck with increases. Then, the front parts are joined along the round neck and the front part is finished in one piece. Now, the front part and the back part are joined by casting on new stitches under the armpits. The body of the sweater is now worked in stockinette stitch in the round and finished off with a hem in 1x1 ribbing. The sleeves are then worked along the armholes. Therefore, pick up stitches along the armholes and work the sleeves in stockinette stitch in the round shortly before the wrists. Before working the cuffs in 1x1 ribbing, work a bunch of decreases for a slightly balloon-like sleeve shape. Now finish off the sleeve with cuffs in 1x1 ribbing. Last but not least the round neck is finished off with a double folded collar in 1x1 ribbing as well.
The sweater has a classic fit and a straight cut. The simplicity of the design contrasts with a special yarn choice: The body and the sleeves are worked with 2 strands of Silk Mohair and with a thread with colourful sequins to make the sweater as unique as possible. To emphasize the contrast, collar, cuffs and hem are worked in different yarn quality to let the sequins and the fluffy silk mohair yarn shine even more.
