Based on a hat I saw at a store, I set out to make a hat with a texture similar to a Henley shirt and the same kind of comfy everyday appeal, but with a little sparkle.
The slipped stitches in this hat gives it a super squishy texture that’s just a bit more interesting than flat ribbing.
The hat is knit long and then decreased quickly for a gathered top that adds more slouch.
The finished hat measures around 20 inches around and has a good amount of give (or negative ease if you want to use the proper term).
Any heavy fingering-light DK weight yarn should work well for this hat.
