November Cardinal

The November pattern in the 2019 Pattern of the Month - the 12 Days of Christmas is the Northern Cardinal representing the pipers piping. The Northern Cardinal is a fairly large, long-tailed songbird with a short, very thick bill and a prominent crest. The belief that a cardinal is a representative of a loved one who has passed and usually show up when you most need them or miss them.
Yarn: Fingering, Sport, DK or Worsted weight yarn
Needles: 4 Double Pointed Needles:
Fingering & Sport: US 1 (2.25mm)
DK & Worsted: US 4 (3.5mm)
Stuffing
Scraps of yarn for eyes and beak
Tapestry and/or embroidery needle
Gauge: Sport Weight: 7 sts and 9 rows = 1” in stockinette
as part of a collection
