NOVELLE is the German word for a short novel.

It’s a feminine shawl pattern, simply made of knit and purl stitches but so rich in texture and drape!

Novelle starts at a single point and grows into an asymmetrical triangle made of a semisolid fingering weight yarn.

Diagonal stripes of garter stitches, stockinette and lines of lace shape the body. The lace pattern is worked on both the right and wrong sides. After knitting a few pattern repeats it is a mindless pleasure to knit. The upper edge becomes more dramatic as diagonal stripes continue into a ruffled edging.
