Northern Lights Toe-up
How do we think of northern Canada and the Northwest Territories without thinking of the Aurora Borealis?
Named for the Greek Goddess of dawn and Roman God of North wind, the Cree call this phenomenon “Dancing Spirits”. The Inuit say that the lights are the dancing souls of the deer, seals, salmon and Beluga whales.
If you’ve been fortunate enough to lie on your back and stare at the sky on a warm summer evening when the
light pollution is minimal, the colours of the dancing lights are magnificent, including teals, greens, reds, yellows and blues.
These socks were inspired by the colours of the Northern lights, the twinkle of the stars shining through them and the people of the Northwest Territories.
Both toe-up and top-down instructions available. Be sure to pick the one that’s right for you.
