With style that never ages, Northerly features a relaxed, drop shoulder silhouette that has been meticulously shaped to lay perfectly over your shoulders. But don’t worry! It is not fussy to knit. The shoulder shaping makes for an amazing fit so that Northerly can have an oversized look while still being refined and fashionable.

Sections of fun colorwork stripes interspersed with stockinette “resting” rounds make Northerly incredibly fun to knit. Moving through each section to get to the next is very moreish and will make it difficult to put this knit down! The colorwork stripes strike the perfect balance between classic and contemporary giving this sweater an elevated, designer edge while still embracing the beauty of a handknit.

The Northerly pullover is knit seamlessly from the top down. You begin by casting on all the stitches for the back, work short rows to shape the shoulders, and then knit straight to the depth of the yoke. The front shoulders are picked up from the back piece. Short rows are again used to shape the shoulders and crew neckline shaping is done with increases. Following the shaping, the front is worked straight to the depth of the yoke. The body is knit in the round. Sleeves are picked up and knit in the round. A doubled neckline finishes this cozy sweater.
