This cardigan is designed to be worn as a jacket with the gauge being slightly tighter than normal, with up to 4” 10 cm of positive ease. Less ease may be desired if wearing this garment as a cardigan instead of a jacket. To make a lighter garment, DK weight yarn may be used to achieve stitch gauge.

The shape is a modified dropped shoulder with a cable running up the left sleeve and left front. The construction technique calls for the shoulder seam to fall one inch below the back neckline; therefore the front pieces will be 2” 5 cm longer than the back. This eliminates the need for back neck shaping. The total finished length is given and the schematic shows the individual lengths for the front and back pieces. A-line shaping is optional.
