North Sea Mandala
This mandala was inspired by my recent vacations in Belgium by the North Sea. I bought two skeins of Larra cotton yarn by Scheepjes in local yarn shop in Gent and designed it while spending relaxing hours at the beach.
Using this pattern you can create a nice mandala potholder as well as small matching coasters. I made it in two colors (peach and turquoise), but you can use more colors if you wish! The size of the finished mandala depends on the yarn and hook you use. My mandala is approx. 20 cm (8”) large.
This pattern is very easy to follow. It offers detailed instructions and lots of progress pictures (a few for each round). All stitches are also explained in the pattern and I’m sure that advanced beginners will easily handle it. Gauge is not very important for this pattern but your mandala should stay flat!
The pattern uses US crochet terms and abbreviations.
Materials: yarn in 2 colors, the crochet hook 2.5 mm (C) or the size that will give an acceptable gauge. You will also need scissors, tapestry needle to weave the ends in and stuffing.
I wish you pleasant crocheting hours and hope that you will enjoy this pattern!
