Nonotuck Wrap
This generous wrap uses the classic stitch Vine Lace in an interesting way.
The pattern is worked over a changing number of stitches, and the pattern
shifts, creating lacy waves. Named for a mountain in Massachusetts popular
for hiking, it mimics the meandering trails.
Yarn
Chunky weight (#5 Bulky).
The Fibre Co. Tundra (60% alpaca, 30% merino,
10% silk; 120 yd 110 m/3
1/2
 oz 100 g): taiga,
6 skeins.
Needles
Size U.S. 10 (6 mm): straight or 24” (60 cm) long
circular (cir).
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain gauge
the correct gauge.
Notions
Stitch markers (m); tapestry needle.
Gauge
131/2 sts and 16 rows = 4” (10 cm) in rev St st,
blocked.
Notes
Wrap is worked from end to end; while the width
of the wrap stays the same, the stitch patterns
gradually grow and shrink along the length of
the wrap.
