YARN REQUIREMENTS

You can use any yarn and colour combination you like. However, the yarn amount will vary depending on your chosen yarn and hook size.

The following yarn requirements are estimates and based on the yarn specified (DK weight #3) and a 3.50 mm hook for the body of the wall hanging and a 3.00 mm for the border.

  • 350m Robin Sparkle DK (White)
  • 155m of Stylecraft Special DK (Green)
  • 150m of Knit Craft Sparkle Era DK (Red)

The final wall hanging (including border) measured, approximately, 11.5”” x 37.5” / 29cms x 95ms

YOU WILL ALSO NEED

  • The hook recommended for your yarn. In the sample, I used a 3.50 mm hook instead of the recommended 4.00 mm, as I wanted the texture to be denser. Hook size is personal choice, but will affect the final yarn usage and project size.
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle
  • 6 mm dowel (optional)
  • Pencil toppers or dowel ends (optional)
  • Good quality fabric for backing (optional)

A big thank you to my wonderful testers: Tracey Ferguson, Kate Dobbins, Tara Klassen, Darcie Russell, Jacqui Ducker and Jayne Reddin. Have a look at their projects for more inspiration. Tracey even won a competition with her version. Congratulations!
