Night Orchid Wrap
A modular wrap that’s as fun as it is easy!
The design features one rectangle picked up and knit from another, both using the evocative fir cone stitch to create a lacy swirl across the surface. One long edge is picked up and knit again in a modified feather and fan stitch to create a lacy border to drape around the neck and shoulders like a shawl collar. To finish, the entire piece is edged in seed stitch with a curled i-cord dangle affixed to each of the four corners.
Gage is not necessary. Design takes approximately 100 yards of the main color and 50 yards each of 4b or 5 others with small quantities of textured yarns like mohair for blending.
5.5 mm/ US 9 needles required as well as a pair of DP for i-cord
