I first saw Nettle Grove at my local yarn store this spring and absolutely fell in love! What could be more idyllic that knitting with a naturally caustic plant that has been transformed through some sort of fiber-witchcraft into soft, sumptuous yarn? It’s almost too good to be true! I hope you enjoy knitting up this summery tee. The lace shaping in the neckline and the waist is actually a bit of a cheat; it’s secretly drop stitches! This will save you from the hassle of actually knitting lace and lets you get a little more mileage out of your yarn. I think the placement of the drop stitches is super flattering for all body types, so don’t be afraid to show a little skin, whatever your size! Girl, you beautiful; flaunt it!

If you need help with the drop-stitch bind off, please see the tutorial at https://youtu.be/1pEOiDJ5Z1w. It will show the basic tecnhique used to bind off drop stitches.

Sizes: 2XS (XS, S, M, L) (XL, 2X, 3X, 4X) to fit the following actual measurements:
2XS: 28” – 29”/ 70 – 74 cm
XS: 30” – 32”/ 76 - 82 cm
S: 33” – 35”/ 84 - 90 cm
M: 36” – 38”/ 92 - 96 cm
L: 40” – 42”/ 102 - 106 cm
XL:44” – 46”/ 112 - 116 cm
2X: 48” – 50”/ 122 - 128 cm
3X: 52” – 54”/ 132 - 138 cm
4X: 56” – 58”/ 142 - 148 cm
This pattern is written with about -2”/-5 cm of ease. If you would prefer zero- or positive-ease to your tee, bump up one or two sizes.

Yarn: 450 (475, 500, 550, 600) (650, 725, 800, 875) yard/415 (435, 455, 500, 550) (600, 665, 730, 800) meters of sport weight yarn.
I like a lightweight, summery plant fiber yarn for this pattern; not 100% animal fiber. Try linen, flax, hemp, silk, cotton. Nothing will work up better for this pattern than the yarn it was written for - Plymouth Yarn’s Nettle Grove (shown in colorway Seagrass).

Notions: 5 small stitch holders, 5 stitch markers, blocking mat, wires (optional, but highly recommended), t-pins, and a tapestry needle.

Techniques: Provisional CO, knitting in the round, seaming (don’t worry, only the shoulders are seamed!), basic increases and decreases, basic drop stitches, picking up stitches, wrap and turn, and blocking.
