Mortimer Moose
Mortimer Moose can be made from any non-washable worsted weight wool. The pattern is written for Lambs Pride but don’t hesitate to make substitutions. I really like using single ply yarns that have a bit of mohair, llama, or alpaca, the addition of these fibers produces a nice fuzzy loft, perfect for stuffed animals.
Materials Yarn: 1 skein of Brown Sheep Lamps Pride worsted weight wool M178 Warm Camel for (body) and 1 skein M89 Roasted Coffee for (antlers) or 1 non-washable worsted weight wool equivalent for moose and one skein of another color for antlers in colors of your choice.
Needles: 1 pair #9 straight needles and 1 set #9 double pointed (dp).
Other: Two #15 mm solid black animal eyes, and two #5 mm black round eyes with holes or tiny black buttons for nostrils. Polyester fiberfill, stitch holders, plastic markers and tapestry needle.
