Morning Star
Our ancestors considered Eight-pointed Star a good symbol of new beginning and also it has meaning of magical protection. So I believe that wearer of this shawl will get her own Guardian Angel.
We can’t knit without nupps - they are a proof of hand knitting. On this shawl there are 1632 nupps. If you prefer less nupps, you can reduce their amount on Edge Lace section.
Yarn: any cobweb or lace yarn is good for this shawl. Please be aware that heavier yarn (100g=1200m, or 100g=1000m) will require larger needles and more yarn, and the shawl’s measurements increases too.
Needles: 2.5 mm (US 1½) - 3 mm (US 2½),
for knitted cast on use 1.5-2 number of larger needle than those used for the body of the shawl. Also you need one DPN in same size for three needle bind off.
In this pattern gauge isn’t so important, but you could swatch a pattern repeat to make sure the lace will not be too loose.
Shawl’s size depend on your yarn and needles. This sample is knitted with needles 2.75 mm (US 2) and fine lace yarn (100g=1600m), it is 206 cm (81,16”) wide and 103 cm (40,55”) height (blocked).
Pattern consist two files - instruction (2 pages) and charts (9 pages).
