Moorlands Romance Shawl
This shawl is a crescent shaped shawl in shades of heather and moss to create a very natural, earthy but still feminine canvas of a shawl. It builds first with an easy striped garter panel to get you going on the shape, forming the far off distance in this picture that will start to form, then into the texture of the moss stitch to represent the colors and textures of the moorland landscape and into the so-close-you-can-almost pick the heather lace panel and the traditional woven look stitch work of a basket patterned section to gather it all in.
Each color has its moment to blend with another shade but also chance to stand alone to give a balanced color rich result. The shape is formed initially by a swift increase from 5 stitches by way of KFB increases and then at each end of the shawl.I have worked this construction for this shawl as an alternative to working a garter tab start. With its simple construction and repeated stitch patterns it makes for an enjoyable play with color and textures
There is a point in the last Moss stitch section of the shawl where you can choose to extend the size if you wish, with a further skein of Yarn A used in that section

Pattern is now Tested, but for anyone who downloaded this pattern before November 7th 2019, please read the following note: An update of the pattern has been issued on November 7th 2019 with the date 5th Nov 2019 on the PDF to download , please delete any older versions you have and download this version.
The latest update includes a few number changes to a section towards the end of the pattern. So this pattern that is called ‘Moorlands Romance Shawl updated’ is the latest version.
The errata above is in the older versions. I’m not sure how these updates work yet, but if it hasn’t happened automatically, can you please download the pattern again to receive this updated version, and delete the old one first from your library if you had already added it there originally
So sorry for the inconvenience.
