♥ moonbeam duster ♥

Cowboys in the old west wore dusters to keep
their jeans dust-free. If you ever roam the forest
during a full moon you are going to get full of
moon-dust! This moonbeam duster will do its
best to keep your petticoats clean & tidy.
or your jeans. OOh how cute would this be with jeans!?

you can get this pattern 2 different ways:

  1. it is featured in my new book Woodland knits.
  2. you can download the pdf right here on this page ♥

the technical stuff
Size: XS (S: M: L: XL: XXL)
Bust Measurements:
28-30, 32-34, 36-38, 40-42, 44-46, 48-50”

Tension/gauge: This yarn normally calls for a smaller needle. I’ve gone up in needle size for a looser fabric. Work 14 sts and 21 rows to measure 4x4” in St stitch using US 10.5 or 6.5 mm needles with MC.

Notions:
A pair of US 10.5 (6.5 mm) circular needles 24” long,
stitch markers, tapestry needle, crochet hook for fringe.

Pattern notes:
This is a great project for scraps or mini-skeins! The body of the vest is knitted flat in 3 pieces and the fun duster fringe added afterwards. Have fun with the colors and experiment!

Yarns used:
I made 2 of these ♥
the lilac one was for the book..
all of the information is in the book and here.

then I made the rust one for me, for fun :)
i used berroco voyage in rust
and rust, tan, teal, and brown heathered fringe!**

The following detailed info is for the LILAC duster:
For the top part you need:
Heavy worsted weight yarn such as:
MC: Malabrigo Merino Worsted, 100 g - 210 yds - 192 m, 100% merino, 36 Pearl (light lilac), No. of skeins: 1 (1: 2: 2: 3: 3)

FRINGE!!! This is the fun part. You’ll need approx.
546 (637: 715: 806: 884: 975) yds of complimentary yarn (a mix of 4-ply, DK & worsted weight.)

Use up your scraps & have fun! Don’t feel limited to what I used. That would be expensive. For the curious, I used the following yarns in my duster:
Brooklyn Tweed Loft: 9 Tent (frog green.)
Classic Elite LaGran Mohair: 6509 (dusty green/blue.)
Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift: 429 Old Gold, 769 Willow, 562 Cyclamen (mauve), 1270 Purple Haze (purple mix.)
Knit Picks Palette: 25100 Serpentine (dark gold), 24012 Iris Heather, 26037 Seraphim (mauve), 25545 Caper.
