Monkey Hot Water Bottle Cover
Knit this hot water bottle cover for your cheeky monkeys for some bedtime fun and giggles. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the monkey cover is knitted in acrylic DK yarns. This pattern incorporates knitting flat using single pointed needles, and knitting in the round on a circular needle using the Magic Loop method. The cover also uses Judy’s Magic Cast On for a neat bottom edge seam.
NEEDLES
A pair of 4mm single pointed knitting needles and a 4mm circular needle (100cm long).
RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; one 100g/280m skein in each colour.
NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, a handful of toy filling, a stitch marker, and buttons for eyes.
SIZES
One size only - To fit a 2 litre hot water bottle for which the standard measurements are 20cm wide x 28cm tall (excluding the neck and stopper).
TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and a little seaming to finish.
