Work this mini mitten in varying yarn weights to get differently-sized ornaments. The back of the mitten has been left in stockinette stitch and is a great place to embroider someone’s initials or the current calendar year.

Construction

Ornament is worked in the round from the bottom up.

Yarn

Make ornaments with different yarn weights to get different sizes and textures! Use scraps you already have or one skein to make a plethora of mini mittens:

• 1 skein of Peerie will yield approximately 14 mini mittens
• 1 skein of Loft will yield approximately 19 mini mittens
• 1 skein of Arbor will yield approximately 9 mini mittens
• 1 skein of Dapple will yield approximately 10 mini mittens
• 1 skein of Shelter will yield approximately 8 mini mittens
• 1 skein of Quarry will yield approximately 10 mini mittens

Yardage

Below are some approximate yardage requirements for one mini mitten using a variety of yarn weights:

• Fingering: 14 yards/13 meters
• Sport/DK: 16 yards/15 meters
• Worsted: 16 yards/15 meters
• Chunky: 20 yards/18 meters

Needles

Double pointed needles in size appropriate for your yarn. Suggested sizes:

• Fingering: 3.5 mm/US 4
• Sport/DK: 4 mm/US 6
• Worsted: 5 mm/US 8
• Chunky: 6 mm/US 10
