Clarifying yardage here for people:
If you are not doubling the yarn you will need 850 (1450) yards in a fingering or heavy lace.
If you double a laceweight (as in the crescent version) you will need 1700 (2900) yards.
Shown doubled using 1700 yds lace weight for half circle version.
Yarn pictured: Half circle shawl shown in Zitron Filisilk Lace de Luxe in “Modern Denim” 3020, “Evergreen” 3012, and “Forest” 3011.
Full circle shawl shown in handspun, two 114 gm braids of Fiber Optic Yarns Gradient Dyed 80/20 Merino/Silk Tops, in color Bitter Lime - Rose, spun and plied. http://kimberbaldwindesigns.com/category/MerinoSilkRoving...
This shawl is worked from the center top back to the lower edge.
The gradient half-circle version uses 2 strands of a thin lace-weight yarn held together that achieve the same gauge as 1 strand of a fingering-weight yarn. The colors of the yarns are swapped in and out to give the color gradation.
The lace pattern is chart only.
