Yarn Mountain Meadow Wool Salem (98% merino, 2% silk; 230 yd 210 m/ 3 ½ oz 100 g): pansy, 3 (4, 4, 5, 5, 6) skeins.
Needles Size 6 (4 mm): 16” and 32” circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers (m); cable needle (cn); stitch holders; tapestry needle.
Gauge 16 ½ sts and 24 rnds = 4” in St st; 41-st cable and lace panel = 8 ¼ “ wide.
Designer’s Note Salem is more comparable to a worsted weight than DK, despite its classification as such. Knitting it at a gauge of 16.5 sts over 4” produces an average stockinette fabric; it is not overly firm nor overly loose. When substituting yarns, look to a worsted or light worsted weight rather than a DK.
