Mirry Dancers Cowl
I have seen many wonderful palettes in the Shetland landscape but one colorful show that I haven’t fully witnessed yet is the Northern Lights. This technicolor display is most prominent in the winter and can present itself in a myriad of colors from neon green to deep purple and everything in between. So many colors can be seen in fact that we decided to offer three possible iterations for this project.
The allover Fair Isle pattern in this cowl mimics the shimmering shafts of light dancing across the night sky dipping in and out of intensity. With all the shades of Jamieson’s available you could potentially work this in many more colors showing a long continuous gradient across the fabric.
Mirry Dancers is knitted entirely in the round, using a provisional cast on. Once the cowl is knitted and blocked, the two ends of the cowl are grafted together, with a twist in the fabric.
