About the pattern
The socks are knitted toe-up with a gusset on the sole and an enforced heel flap in a diamond pattern. All over the socks, there is a diamond pattern created by twisted stitches.
The pattern is written with many helpful instructions to assist the knitter. If you still encounter any issues, you are welcome to join the Yarnesty KAL Facebook group.
Notions and needles
4 stitch markers
1 unique Beginning of round marker
Darning needle
Needles for working on a small circumference in size to obtain gauge, e.g. circular needles of at least 80 cm, double pointed needles, 23 cm circulars or CrazyTrios/FlexiFlops
The sample socks were knitted with needles size 3.5mm. Choose a needle size that gives you the correct gauge, see also Gauge below.
Yarn and meterage
Two strands are held and knitted together:
one strand Sandnes Sisu 80% wool / 20% polyamide, weight 175m/50g
one strand Isager Silk Mohair, 70% kid mohair 30% silk, weight 212m/25g
Meterage:
Main Colour, MC: 150 (170, 180, 200) metres of each strand, respectively
Contrast Colour, CC: 130 (150, 170, 190) metres of each strand, respectively
Gauge
26 sts and 35 rnds = 10x10 cm in stocking stitch in the round after blocking
Normally I recommend knitting a swatch to ensure your gauge is correct. When knitting socks, the toe can serve as a swatch. Just be prepared that you might need to start the toe over again.
Test knitting
Thank you so much to all the test knitters who helped me with both testing and proofreading!
