Mini-malu is a toe-up sock pattern featuring small round cables made with a cross-stitch technique. Three cross-stitch variations are included, all subtly adjusted to suit fingering-weight sock construction. The heel is worked using simple German Short Rows, combined with a mini gusset on the sole to create a deeper heel cup. Directions are written for the magic loop method with circular needles. Video tutorials are included.

What is mini-malu?: The name mini-malu is a playful blend of the word minimal and the Japanese word maru (meaning “circle” or “round”). It hints at “a small circle,” reflecting the simple, rounded design.

Mini-maluは、cross-stitch (クロスステッチ) で作る小さな丸いケーブル模様が並ぶトウアップソックスです。中細糸で編む靴下に合うように編み方のバランスを調整したcross-stitchは3種類のバリエーションを収録。かかとはドイツ式引き返し編みで簡単に編めるショートロウヒール。小さなマチを加えることで、通常のショートロウヒールよりも、かかとに深さを持たせています。編み方は輪針のマジックループ式に合わせて説明されています。動画解説のリンク付き。

mini-maluとは?: 小さな丸い模様が並ぶので、日本語の「丸」とminimal をかけ合わせた言葉遊びの名前をつけてみました。

推奨のフィット寸法: 足囲で3〜5 cm、足長で1.5〜2cmを足のヌード寸法より小さく仕上げるとよい。
