Mimosa Doily
Materials: Mercerized crochet cotton, size 70, about 375 yards.
Set of double-pointed needles No. 2. (Or English size 11.)
Steel crochet hook No. 14. (Or English size 7.)
No gauge included. Only finished size of 16” diameter. Pattern is worked in the round from the center out.
Consists of 62 knitted rounds and the crocheted bind-off edging.
Noted that this pattern was first shown in the Spring-Summer issue of 1952. It also appears in McCall’s Stitchery Nostalgia, Volume VI, 1977 and McCall’s Crochet/Knit for the Home Encyclopedia Vol 5.
This pattern appears to be an expanded version of the Place Doily in Marianne Kinzel’s A.N.P. No. 3: Luncheon Set Mimosa.
In Knitted Heirloom Lace II, this doily is called Fantasia.
