Michaelis Socks
Discontinued.
This digital pattern is no longer available online.
These socks were inspired by an oak-tree-lined, squirrel-ridden, artsy part of Cape Town. And by the beautiful yarn (fittingly named Red Squirrel). And by my very dear friend Cara who shared a huge part of my growing up days, many of them in this neighbourhood.
Worked in slip-stitch patterning in fine 3ply yarn, they are dense, warm and durable while still being fine enough to wear in shoes. The brick stitch works particularly well with handspun yarn (as in the sample) or hand-dyes; Soliloquy Sock Lace would be very suitable.
