Metis
Metis is Athena’s mother in Greek mythology (Her son, Porus, is the “personification of resourcefulness or expediency” according to Plato). Metis’ children are a good summary of your typical knitter’s skillset, no? This is a fairly simple pattern, but looks infinitely more complex thanks to the multicolor Noro yarn used. (Color #332 is the closest current Noro color)
It would also look great in a rich kettle-dyed yarn or even a gradient kit (Neighborhood Fiber Co Studio DK and Dragonfly Fibers Traveller offer some perfect choices that you could combine with a solid for a dramatic yoke/sleeves and plain body).
What can I say? I have a bit of a thing for Greek mythology… I even dressed up as Athena for Halloween one year as a child (blame Clash of the Titans).
