This design was made following the request of Homespun Crochet Magazine (summer 2022).
The Mermaid Dreamcatcher is an eye-catching bohemian bib necklace, embodying free-spiritedness. It is worked in rows, using basic crochet stitches that will yield a fantastic final look.
Left-over yarn is perfect for this project.
The pattern comes in both UK and US crochet terms.
Yarn, colors, qty: Phildar Coton 3 (100% cotton, 121m, 50g, Australian 5 ply equiv.) in the following colours.
Colour 1: Opaline #2151, 10g
Colour 2: Noir #1200, 5g
Colour 3: Jade #1380, 10g
Hook: 3mm
Other tools/supplies/notions
• Tapestry needle for weaving ends
• 45cm long chain
• Fifteen jump rings
• Jewellery trinkets for decorative purposes, eg:
o Six metal beads
o Six small metal coins
o One big metal coin
o Three black fringes
Finished measurements
Crochet bib: 16cm in upper part at the widest point x 12cm center down.
NOTES The chains at the end and beginning of rows count as stitches.
Special stitches:
4-tr cluster: Yo twice, insert hook in stitch, yo, pull through, yo pull through 2 twice 4 times, yo and pull through all 5 loops on hook.
