Merlot Poncho
MERLOT possibly is the warmest garment I have ever knit. Made from 100% virgin wool and knitted with 10mm needles it is super cozy and knits up very fast. Meanwhile the compelling but easy to work cable pattern keeps things interesting and guarantees a very fun knit.
MERLOT is knitted seamlessly from the top down and the pattern includes information on how you can alter the length to your wishes.
What I like most about ponchos is that they don’t slip off your shoulders when you wear them. On warmer days in fall you can wear MERLOT instead of a jacket and on colder days you can give your favorite jacket an upgrade by wearing MERLOT on top of it.
I hope you will like it just as much as I do! Happy knitting!
This pattern went through technical editing and test knitting. I was not able to find testers for the size 1 though. If you are interested in testing size 1, please send me a message.
I would love to see your MERLOT poncho on Ravelry or on social media. It is always very exciting to see all your beautiful works. So I would be happy if you use this hashtag #merlotponcho for the poncho and tag me @herbgarden.knitwear!
CHOOSING A SIZE
MERLOT poncho is intended to be worn over a jacket or coat. Therefore I recommend choosing a size with a generous amount of positive ease.
Pictured is a size 2 on a 95cm / 37.5” bust with a winter coat underneath the poncho.
