Meristem
The Meristem tunic is designed with casual elegance in mind. It is a simple, cozy garment perfect for the transition to autumnal weather. The front yoke features a slipped branching cable pattern.
This pattern comes paired with a recipe for Spiced Marmalade Apple Pie - a medieval twist on the classic apple pie. It starts with the traditional apples and spices but the pie is sweetened with orange marmalade and the buttery crust is studded with cloves. Baking this pie infuses your whole house with the smells of late autumn.
Construction
The Upper Back Yoke of Meristem is worked from side to side. The Upper Front Yoke is worked in two halves, each beginning with a provisional cast-on at the center and working out to the armhole edge. Stitches are picked up from the side edge of the Upper Front Yoke and the Lower Front Yoke is worked to the base of the armhole shaping; the Lower Back Yoke is worked in the same manner. The Lower Yokes are joined and the Body is worked in one piece to the beginning of the side slits, and then the Front and Back are worked separately to the bottom edge.
