Men's Rustic Scarf
Pattern description from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts: “This scarf is made with a wonderfully earthy, tweed wool yarn that has a rugged, rustic look, but is not at all itchy. The colors of the stripes are rich but not too bright, which I’ve observed is the usual preference of the men whom I meet at Purl. Because you cast on stitches for the full length of the scarf, the stripes are vertical, rather than the typical horizontal stripes for scarves. Because you are working an odd number of rows for each garter stitch stripe, ‘blips’ of the old color are introduced at the beginning of a stripe in a new color. This adds an unexpected modern touch.”
