Mekosha
The story behind designing this shawl was the need for me to knit a project without having to go through the process of swatching and yet have a meaningful outcome. I decided to work on the dragon tail shawl, alternating a solid panel with a lace panel. Each solid panel is worked using a different stitch thereby giving an outcome of different length and width of the stair step which defines the dragon tails rugged scales.
You can use any sport weight yarn and can customise the requirement of the wingspan by deciding on how many panels to knit .
Yarn used is Vardhaman Cotone which is a cotton and acrylic blend.
You can use any sport weight yarn.
The finished shawl has a dimension of 84” wingspan and 18” depth at centre back.
German short rows have been used to create the unique triangular shaped panels.
It is an Intermediate/advance pattern.
