This is the EASIEST stitch pattern after garter stitch and perfect for showing off ribbon-type yarns! The pattern has 6 rows (knit every row) and any number of stitches will work. This pattern is from 1912 Fleisher’s Knitting and Crocheting Manual, p.169. The usual yarns will work here, too. The 2 sides are identical.

Skills needed: cast on, knit and bind off in knit stitch.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.

100 yards of Julia by JLCraft ribbon yarn will make 10 inches of a 30-stitch strip at gauge.
