Materials:
Yarn: Battenkill Fibers, 60% merino wool, 40% alpaca; 155 yds per 100g skein; color: Brick Red, 7 (8, 8, 9, 10, 10, 11, 12, 12, 13, 14) skeins, 1014 (1120, 1213, 1366, 1449, 1545, 1655, 1733, 1856, 2005, 2100) yds. Note: The crew neck version will need approximately 70-80 yards less.
Needles: Size 7/4.5mm 16” and 24” (or longer) circular needles and set of 4 or 5 double-pointed needles. Size 6/4mm 24” circular needle for neckband.
Other: Stitch markers, cable needle, stitch holders or waste yarn, tapestry needle.
Gauge: 18 sts and 23 rows = 4” in Stockinette Stitch, with larger needles. 56-st Front & Back Cable Panel = 8.75” wide, after blocking. 16 sts = 4” wide in Dot Stitch.

Notes: This sweater is a compound raglan constructed from the top down in one piece. The compound raglan allows for a more flattering fit because the rate of increase varies to more accurately follow the shape of the body. It increases more rapidly between the neck and shoulders and at the end to curve around the underarm, but more gradually in the section in between. It is modeled with a slight negative ease, but if you desire a looser fit make a size that measures slightly larger than your bust. And of course the sleeves and body can be easily lengthened by adding more rows. The neckband can be made as a crew neck or cowl neck.
