Magpies are known for collecting shiny objects, and even though this pattern is named for the yarn I used in the sample, the finished object is a shiny object worth collecting for your wardrobe. It’s fairly simple to knit, with garter stitch rows and simple increases making a wearable crescent shape. Buttonhole lace attaches the softly-scalloped spring lace border.
The shawl wingspan measures approximately 71”/ 180.5cm across the top and is approximately 143⁄4”/ 37.5cm deep at the centre, or :
Easily substitute a lighter weight yarn, or make this shawl larger, by expanding the garter stitch section. The pattern contains specific suggested goal stitch counts. The yardage requirements will change, as will the stitch counts for subsequent rows.
