Magical Milestones
This top combines a few of my favorite things; a tee shaping, modular & bias knitting and quilt block layouts. I love mixing up fiberarts and see so many possibilities for knitting from other handcrafts. So many times I’ll see fabric or quilts and think “I can knit that!” and quilt blocks easily lend themselves to knitting since we can knit squares and rectangles to any size we like!
As you can tell, I’m a huge fan of bias knitting and panels for an overall slimming effect so the width of this top is complimented by the bias knitting on either side of the center panels. No actual waist shaping is used but the overall effect creates a great silo.
I explain how to join the blocks together but the real fun comes in your decision for laying them out! You can use the blocks layout grid to decide just how you want to set up the front panel or mix and match and make up your own layout. The back panel is mitered but can easily be replaced with another set of quilt blocks. It’s totally up to you!
