Lyme Regis Scarf
This is a large needle, thick yarn lace scarf. It’s a quick knit with a delightful result. It’s a great first charted project, and would be a great gift pattern, as well~happy & quick results for last minute presents.
In Jane Austen’s Persuasion, Louisa Musgrove had her terrible accident at Lyme. While the event was distressing it was also a poignant reminder of Anne Elliot’s calm capability. It also helped set the scene for the later relationship of Louisa Musgrove and Captain Benwick. Perhaps Captain Benwick would have worn a cravat such as this to keep away the chill on a cool and damp winter eve on the coast.
This scarf is inspired by the undulating waters and rocky structures at the Cobb in Lyme Regis, Dorset.
