The Lutz shawl
You start with the bottom edge and create a lovely lace border, it then moves on to a stockinette middle body. The top edge and both sides of this rectangular shawl get embellished with a contrasting color and an interestingly easy stitch.

The pattern is fully written and includes a chart for the lace. The blocked shawl measures 55” in length and 16.5” in height.

Yarn
C1 - A skein of Delicate, hand wound with 3 strands in complimentary colors creating a sport weight yarn with cottons, linens and bamboo. 220 yards a skein.
C2 - A mini skein with 20 yards of Organic cotton in a DK weight.

Notions
US size 15 (10 mm) circular needle 36” (91 cm) in length.
5 Stitch markers.
Tapestry needle or crochet hook for finishing.

Gauge
7.5 sts and 14 rows in 4” of stockinette stitch, blocked in C1 yarn.

Techniques
Knitting, purling, knitting stitches together, slipping stitches, yarn overs, binding off, picking up stitches, changing yarn, weaving in ends and blocking for best results.
