Lucky Thirteen Granny
In getting ready for Spring weather I wanted to create a soft cotton blanket in pastels and brights so I landed on the I Love This Cotton yarn by Hobby Lobby (solid blue sample). Though any yarn will do as long as you mind your tension. (If created too loosely, you lose the dimensions that the cabling adds).
THEN, I decided to use some worsted weight partial skeins and made the colorful versions you see here.
Then again, I used I Love This Yarn in the color Brights to make the jewel toned squares. (For this yarn, I used 5.5mm hook and the square came out 10.5 inches wide).
This is an advanced pattern, using front and back post stitches, stitches formed “together,” and assumes that you have good control over tension and can adjust it as you see the need (this greatly depends on the yarn you are using).
Please enjoy all thirteen Rounds of the lovely Lucky Thirteen Granny square. Thank you.
