The Lucania Shawl is a stunning, modern accessory with a rich story to tell. Shaped in an elegant triangle, it takes its name from the Lucania region of Italy, where the yarn it was designed for is sourced. The shawl’s textured body, a beautiful blend of garter stitch and a repeating lace pattern, draws the eye with its intricate design, while the garter stitch edging provides a clean, defined finish. Shaped with short rows and completed with an I-cord bind-off, the shawl’s border adds a final touch of refinement.
The shawl pictured is made from Gentile di Lucania wool, a rare and sustainable fiber from an ancient breed of sheep that dates back to Roman times. The shawl combines lightness, warmth, and history in every stitch.

This design has been created in collaboration with Fibre Gentili.
