These adorable lovebirds made the cutest pair! An easy pattern, simply mix and match the colours for unique birds.

Larger birds? Use thicker yarn. Want a plush size? Use plush yarn!
This versatile pattern is only limited by your yarn stash.

Lovebirds are an easy design to make and uses US terminology. A knowledge of how to crochet is essential as this pattern does not teach you how to crochet, it simply provides instructions for you to make the toys.

Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item. My Lovebirds are approx. 11cm tall.

You will need:

• 2.2mm hook/B-1
• 4ply yarns/Fingering or Sport > less than 25g per colour
• WHITE embroidery thread
• 2 pairs of 9mm safety eyes
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Polyester toy stuffing
• Stitch marker (optional)

Notes:

• Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best.

• When changing colour, pull through the new colour on the stitch before you need it. This will ensure that you have the correct colour yarn on the hook for the upcoming stitch.

• Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.

• I have used safety eyes but you may choose to embroider. Please ensure that there are no loose fittings.
